Designer Sanne Lund Traberg recreated elements of a winter forest for the 2023 Christmas Collectibles, inspired by the magic of the seasonal landscape.

     Sanne Lund Traberg’s designs for Georg Jensen’s 2022 Christmas Collectibles are inspired by her own childhood as she remembers them a magical time with her family and traditions on a farm in northern Jutland. The collection captures the most classic elements of Christmas in angels, cones and bows with nostalgic, lace-inspired detailing. Sanne creates these beautiful graphic shapes by folding and cutting shapes by hand, giving the designs a light silhouette yet richly detailed.

     The magic of a crisp and clear winter night sky is captured in this year's motif of three, four and five pointed stars. Part of Georg Jensen’s annual Christmas Collectibles collection, the star symbolizes the optimism and joy of the yuletide period as it twists and turns whilst hanging on a tree or in the window.

     Sanne Lund Traberg based her mobiles and decorations on winter plants collected from her very own garden. The results not only reference the natural world - so important to true Scandinavian design - but also the flower photography of Karl Blossfeldt and Art Nouveau that is such a strong part of the Georg Jensen heritage.

    Long-time Georg Jensen collaborator Sanne Lund Traberg was invited to create the 2019 Christmas collectibles due to her unique ability to mix historical references with a totally modern approach to design. The results are as timeless as they are beautiful. Combining Art Deco and Cubist references from the Georg Jensen archive together with a totally modern approach to design to yielded a collection of collectible decorations that will charm both young and old.

     A striking collection of winter nature motifs from Swedish designer Monica Förster marks the 2018 Christmas Collectibles. Beautifully crafted to combine delicate and ornate textures with a graphic and contemporary twist, the winter bird is the perfect symbol of a snowy Christmas landscape. With its graceful movement and depth, this playful ornament brings life and nature to your Christmas setting. The Christmas Mobile Winter Bird is made out of 18 carat gold plated brass.

In addition to the traditional red ribbon, the mobile comes with a special dark green ribbon.

     The design behind this year’s Christmas Collectibles came from the desginer Alfredo Häberli's childhoold Christmas traditions.

“When I was a child, a Christmas tradition was for my family to get together at our grandparents’ hotel. We had a fantastic time, and coming from a Swiss-German family we always had a real fir tree, although sometimes it felt a little strange in Argentina in the middle of summer, without snow. We had many other traditions, such as singing, playing instruments, decorating the tree and giving presents. I thought about which object represents Christmas for me: a star, a glass bauble, the three kings, Santa Clause, and an angel”.

“I looked at the concept and function of the collectible, and I decided to focus on the angel. I created different sizes, shapes and I made some decorative holes symbolizing snowflakes or starry skies. If you look carefully, the angels are part of the Alfredo Collection. They have a twist, which will hopefully make you smile and warm your heart. If this is your reaction, then I have succeeded with its purpose!” - Alfredo Häberli.

In addition to the traditional red ribbon, the mobile comes with a special dark blue ribbon.

The design behind this year’s Christmas Collectibles is based on the Christmas Wreath, the symbol of welcome and hospitality that greets our visitors at the front door during the Christmas season. It speaks of the warmth and comfort that awaits us inside the homes of friends and family. The Christmas Wreath, made with the smooth organic forms of the leaves of the magnolia tree, sits between the frosty magic of the outdoors and the rich colourful interior of the home. The design plays with this inside/outside theme, making some of the designs solid and others hollow. Light passes through the leaves or glitters and bounces of them.
